Hi, I'm Amelia, founder of Summerfield Studio, a wife, a mother to two beautiful girls, and a passionate residential designer based in the Yass Valley.

While design is my profession, my family will always be my first and most important job. Being a wife and mum has shaped the way I approach every project, giving me a deep appreciation for how families live, grow, and connect within their homes.

My journey into residential design began straight after school when I commenced a Bachelor of Architecture. 

During my second year of study, I started working with a boutique high-end residential builder and quickly discovered my passion for designing homes. Seeing ideas transform from sketches into places where families create memories confirmed that residential design was where I belonged.

Over the years, I've gained experience across all stages of the residential building industry. I've worked alongside architects, producing detailed construction documentation for large-scale residential projects, before moving into a drafting role with a national home builder. These experiences provided invaluable insight into both design and construction, helping me understand what it takes to create custom home designs that are not only beautiful but practical, buildable, and cost-effective.

In 2022, I launched Summerfield Studio while continuing to work full-time, driven by a desire to offer a more personalised and client-focused design experience. Today, I work closely with families, homeowners, investors, and builders throughout Yass, Canberra, and Regional NSW to create homes that reflect the people who live in them, including unique granny flat designs and home renovations that meet specific needs.

I believe good design starts with listening. Every family is different, and every home should be too. Whether you're building your forever home, planning an investment property, or exploring the potential of your block, my goal is to make the design process straightforward, enjoyable, and tailored to your needs.
